Breaking news: Joe Alexander to test NBA waters
Yep, you read it right. According to Mountaineer Sports Net, Joe Alexander is going to start working out for some NBA teams. While nothing is set in stone quite yet (early withdrawal date for the draft is June 16. Hold your breath until then), it looks like the NBA and its promise of lucrative dollar signs is winning out over the college experience. I mean, I can't fault the kid. Who wouldn't choose driving your escalade to your supermodel girlfriend's house to get the best buns of your life over getting the clap from some girl from Beckley in your Towers dorm room?
But what does coach Huggs think? Well, he had this to say on the matter:
"We are supportive of Joe and whatever Joe thinks he needs to do for himself and his family. If he decides there is an opportunity out there for him, he will have 100 percent support of the Mountaineer basketball program." (MSNsportsnet.com)
Good luck, Joe. We in Mountaineer Nation just hope you make it further than the Albuquerque Thurnderbirds.
