Sam Huff calls out WVU recruit, yells at kids to get off his lawn

NFL Hall of famer, Redskins radio color man, and noted geriatric Sam Huff might have a lot to complain about - poor NFL pension coverage, Larry Michael talking over his inane ramblings, and neighborhood children leaving flaming bags of poop on his front porch are just a few - but chastising highly touted WVU O-line recruit Josh Jenkins is currently #1 with a bullet on his list.

It was recently released that Jenkins would not play in West Virginia's annual North/South game (the state's high school football all-star game) due to concern over potentially injuring himself and missing out on WVU camp. To which Huff huffed (see what I did there?):

"He has a right not to play. I have a right to ask why. Is he afraid to meet someone his own size?"

Huff went on.

"I think it's a big mistake. What [is he] afraid of? It's one of the best things I ever did - play in the North-South game. I played in a college all-star game. I played in the greatest game ever played [he's referring to the 1958 Colts/Giants NFL championship]. And I never worried about getting hurt. The guy that had the ball - like Jim Brown - had to worry about getting hurt."

WHOAAAAAAAAA there, Sam. Take it ease. You know we all love you, but take a blood pressure pill real quick.

Down the hatch? Okay, good.

Now, sure - I see where you're coming from. You want this kid to play because he should love playing football just to play (huh?). He should love representing his high school in the last game that he'll play at that level. He should be proud to show the entire state of West Virginia the talent that everyone's clamoring about.

But Mr. Huff, he's got his eye on a much bigger prize. Representing his state - and your state, West Virginia - on a national level. Coach Stewart and his crew are trying to build our program into national prominence, into something all West Virginia residents can be proud of. Something that we can finally possess that can be labeled the best in the nation. Something truly incredible that we can call our own. And Josh is an integral part of that.

And I know, Sonny Jurgensen has been locked away in his special hyperberic chamber until the fall, but please find a new target to cast your senile ire at. This kid is going to help bring your alma mater the national championship you couldn't. So take a chill pill! Get ready for the Mountaineers this season - they're really going to be something special.
